The Hotel Association of Türkiye (TÜROB) will take part in IBTM World Barcelona 2025, to be held between 18–20 November 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. TÜROB will be present at Hall 3, Stand E10, together with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) and the Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau (ICVB).
IBTM World is recognized as one of the most significant global gatherings in the field of MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). Each year, thousands of destinations, hotels, event organizers, and tourism professionals come together at the event, which plays a leading role in shaping the global meetings and events industry.
TÜROB President Müberra Eresin emphasized the strategic importance of MICE tourism for Türkiye in her statement: “MICE tourism is far more than organizing meetings or events; it is a strategic field that directly contributes to a country’s economic growth, city branding, and the sustainable diversification of its tourism sector. Conference participants not only attend sessions but also experience the culture of the cities they visit, thereby creating a significant multiplier effect on the local economy. Türkiye, particularly cities such as Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, and Bursa, possesses strong infrastructure, high-quality accommodation, and experienced human resources—placing our country in a competitive position in the global MICE market. Although hybrid event formats gained prominence during the pandemic, the last two years have shown a notable recovery in physical attendance at international meetings and congresses. This trend demonstrates that face-to-face events continue to hold strong value and will gain even greater importance in the future. Istanbul hosted more than 80 international congresses in 2024, ranking once again among the top 15 cities in Europe. Our goal is to position both Istanbul and Türkiye among the top 10 global destinations for international congresses. As TÜROB, we will continue to work closely with our public and private stakeholders to achieve this vision.”
